Don’t Leave Your Hearing Aids in Your Car

They need to be in a dry, cool place if you want them to last. Heat can ruin the batteries and impact your device.

Hearing Aids Are Not Waterproof

Don’t leave your hearing aids anywhere they can become wet, like a beach chair or by the poolside. In addition, don’t leave them anywhere they could get splashed with water.

If they do somehow get wet, power them off, take out the battery, and dry them gently with a cloth. After, place them in your dehumidifier to get rid of any leftover moisture.

Never Use Chemicals Near Your Hearing Aids

This means sunscreen, hairspray, spray perfume, insect repellents, or anything else with chemicals. This can slowly ruin their performance.

Fix your hair and put on sunscreen prior to putting in your hearing aids. Wait until these products dry completely before reinserting them into your ears.

Clean Your Hearing Aids Daily

This is important especially if you have participated in sports nearby dust and grass. Otherwise clean them regularly to keep them in their best working order. Sweat and dirt can build, possibly causing an ear infection.

Clean them with a soft cloth or brush. Never use water or alcohol.

Get a Dehumidifier

This is the best way to get rid of moisture from your device. Just drop them in when you are ready for bed.

Consider Hearing Aid Covers
